Spencer Glassman '19 advances to state geography bee.
After his second straight victory in the Newark Academy schoolwide National Geographic geography bee, Spencer Glassman ’19 turned his attention to the next Bee milestone - the written qualifying test for the state-level competition.

He successfully completed the test and has been named a National Geographic State Bee Semifinalist by National Geographic Society. The Society has invited up to 100 of the top-scoring students in each of the 50 states to compete in the state Bees across the country.

Spencer will represent Newark Academy at the 2015 National Geographic New Jersey state geography bee!

The NJ state bee will be held at Rowan University on March 27. Each state champion will receive $100, the “National Geographic Atlas of the World,” a medal, and a trip to Washington, D.C., to represent their state in the National Geographic Bee Championship to be held at National Geographic Society headquarters in May.

Best of luck, Spencer!
