Simon Scholars and Malone Family Foundation

William E. Simon '46 Scholars

Named in honor of former Newark Academy Board of Trustees Chair, alumnus and alumni parent William E. Simon, Sr. '46, who served as the United States Secretary of the Treasury under President Richard M. Nixon, these four scholarships are designated for entering 9th grade students. These scholarships provide the total cost of tuition, fees, books, transportation, books, and a summer leadership experience. The Office of Admission and Enrollment Management manages the selection of Simon Scholars. There is no additional information required beyond a completed admission application and the completed financial aid application.

Malone Family Foundation Scholars

The Malone Family Foundation was founded in 1997 by Dr. John C. Malone, a communications and media executive and investor, and his family, with one principal initial objective: to improve access to quality education – particularly at the secondary school level — for gifted students who lack the financial resources to best develop their talents. In 2000, Newark Academy was one of the first of 48 independent secondary schools throughout the United States selected to receive an endowment for scholarships from the Malone Family Foundation. This endowment provides scholarships, covering between 30 and 80 percent of tuition for selected students in grades 7 through 12. The Office of Admission and Enrollment Management manages the selection of Malone Family Foundation Scholars. There is no additional information required beyond a completed admission application and the completed financial aid application.
